We met early in the morning out on the Eno River. It felt different to work on the river with the light arriving rather than fleeting. Emily and Layla's connection was mesmeric as I found myself uncontrollably "ooh-ing" and "ahh-ing" from behind the lens. At the start of our session, Emily told me she'd already begun to wean Layla as Emily was ten weeks pregnant at the time but did hope to get a few breastfeeding shots. When Layla did latch on to mom, chills zipped through my body at the thought of her providing for two babies at the same time. A woman's body is magic; it is the most incredible vessel.
