Julia's Mama VIVIFY Session

I was a little nervous about feeling too exposed or awkward but Krista made me feel so comfortable, strong, and beautiful—I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
— Julia

Motherhood doesn’t often pause for souvenirs. But Julia wanted one — something real to remember the final stretch of her breastfeeding days with Norah. By the time we met for her Mama Vivify session, she’d already given Norah a whole world: plane rides, metros, a mother willing to say come with me to every adventure.

Before our session, Julia took Norah on an adventure that still amazes me: just the two of them crossing the Atlantic to France. She navigated airports, metros, cobblestone streets — toddler in tow, stroller, bags, snacks, the whole circus. My brain hurts just thinking about wrestling a car seat through a French taxi, but Julia did it all with her usual calm curiosity and a spirit that says: we’ll figure it out. That alone says so much about the way she mothers — brave, adaptable, and determined to fold Norah into every corner of her life.

At their session, that same spirit showed up in quieter ways too — Norah nestled against her mother’s chest, calm and content, trusting that wherever they are, they’re home together. There was no rush to pose or perform. Just soft giggles, small hands reaching for reassurance, and a mother who met every need with steady warmth.

These sessions aren’t about staged perfection — they’re about proof. Proof that love can be both an adventure and an anchor. Proof that a mother’s courage, humor, and tenderness live side by side. Through these photographs, Julia bottled up this chapter for herself and Norah: reminders that even when the days feel fast and ordinary, they hold stories worth keeping.
