Kathy + Kevin Maternity

Admittedly, I sometimes feel a little disconnected with my portrait clients before their session. It's just how the cookie crumbles, you know?! Let me explain!

Most our only communication before a portrait session is via email or phone, thus I feel unable to make those personal connection through these platforms. With my brides, I have a face-to-face consultations (maybe an engagement session) and we have a lot of collaborative emails between one another and other involved vendors before the big day. Through time, I become deeply connected to my brides. My portrait clients, on the other hand, feels as if I'm going on a blind date! We meet at a public location, I don't know what they look like, and I'm getting to meet them in person for the first time! It never fails that right before the session my nerves kick in!

I was nervous for this shoot. I don't know if it was because I was on the site a little too early or if it was that feeling of "going on a blind date feeling".  As I saw Kathy and Kevin pull up to the park, I was instantaneously comfortable with them; I felt as though I knew them for years! All the praise and thankful hand emojis for these awesome clients!

In between shooting, I continuously gushed over Mardi and those sweet muppet like curls... oh I could just die! Working for clients like this make my job a dream, and I feel a little dazzled to document this moment in their lives!
